Book Review: Rejection Happens for A Reason by S Mukesh Rao
Rejection Happens for A Reason by S Mukesh Rao is a story of every college-going boy who faces lots of rejection from girls. This book is total fun and seems like a motivating read. I love everything about this amazing book.
After reading a few serious books I was looking for something light and fun. When I came across this book I was attracted by its title and cover. Initially, the story took some time but the second half of the story stole the show. The author has wonderfully framed all the characters in the book.
Sharad is the main protagonist of this book. I find his character very real. He is a good person who wants to fall in love. He has his own insecurities that he accepts. This character gives hope to many college-going boys who find it hard to approach girls and lack confidence.
The character of Tiya represents many Indian girls who still face similar problems in many orthodox households. The way she fights her insecurities and builds her life and career is very inspiring.
The story reminds me of my college days. All the fun and leg-pullings that Sharad does with friends seem nostalgic.
The inner battles of Sharad seem real and I know everyone passes through them irrespective of gender.
The story starts well but as it progresses I get a little bored in between Sharad’s inner talks. But, I agree the second half of the book is more interesting and the end was unexpected.
The author has written this book to help and motivate college-going boys. But I believe this book will help both genders equally.
The author very well explained the feelings and problems of college-going boys. He covered everything in detail. In college days we think about small things so much. The way Sharad steals Navya’s number from someone else’s phone made me laugh.
Overall, this is a great book. I believe every college-going student and their parents should read it once. If you want to learn and enjoy both at the same time then I will highly recommend you to read Rejection Happens for A Reason by S Mukesh Rao.
