Book Review: Hooked by Shobana Mahadevan
Hooked by Shobana Mahadevan is a contemporary romance novel that revolves around Vidyut, Tara, and Rana. This is a cute love story based on friendship, trust, and childhood bonding.
The title of the story gives full justice to the theme of the story but I find the cover comparatively less interesting. The author had wonderfully covered college life and designed the characters as per the plot of the story.
Tara is a happy-go-lucky girl who has wonderful friends and always follows her instincts. I love her bonding with her parents and best friend Vidyut.
Vidyut is a handsome hunk whom every girl wants to fall in love with. Unfortunately, her dating life is a complete disaster, and thanks to Tara for that. He is intelligent, good at sports, and full of self-control.
Rana is the love of Tara’s life. He enters her life with a bang and turns her life upside down. He is handsome, rich, and arrogant, but a sad person who had a troubled relationship with her parents.
I love the bonding between Vidyut and Tara’s parents.
The lovely friendship shared by Tara and Vidyut is the central theme of the story. There was no secret between the two since they were kids. Life turns upside down when love enters Tara’s life. The whole equation changed between Tara and Vidyut.
A few wrong decisions made them suffer a lot. After reading this book I feel a friend like Vidyut is a true blessing in Tara’s life.
The author has wonderfully crafted the plot of the story adding layers to each character which makes the story unpredictable. The story of the book Hooked by Shobana Mahadevan flows nicely and I never get bored while reading it.
I like everything about the book but would be happy to know more about the character of Reena. Since the book begins with this character but I didn’t find her more in the rest of the story.
This is a cute love story based on friendship and college romance. If you love reading sweet love stories then I will highly recommend you to read Hooked by Shobana Mahadevan.

Tara is a 21-year-old beautiful and good-hearted girl studying MBA at the Premier Institute of Management and Research. She is completely romantic by heart and waiting for her soulmate. Her dream came true when Rana, who is rich and handsome, joined their college. They immediately fell in love with each other.
This happiness does not last long because Vidyut, her best friend, does not like Rana. Vidyut is a handsome, easy-going, and popular boy in college. He and Tara are childhood besties and live next to each other. He hates Rana and thinks he is not a goodhearted person.
