“A Price to Love” by Smita Das Jain is a modern story of Sonia’s life featuring hidden and dark truths of her life. The book flows at a good pace and easily hooks the reader’s attention. I loved every character in the book. Modern relationships are well covered in the book including work-life balance issues that most working women face in everyday life.
I love the cover and the well-crafted characters of the book. Sonia is a modern woman who always gives importance to her career. When she felt suffocated in her marriage, she didn’t think twice before getting involved with Mehul, her junior at work. She easily gets over Mehul when she changes her job.
The character of Sonia is the face of a modern woman who gives importance to her life and career. She also believes in keeping herself happy. She is a very dedicated working professional who wins every heart in her professional life.
Sameep Aggarwal is a possessive and loving husband who wants her wife around and always gives importance to her happiness. He even sacrificed his dream job to be with Sonia.
Rishabh is an excellent business head who desperately wants to work with Sonia. He has lots of admiration for Sonia’s working style, hard work, and determination. Although his marriage lacks love, as he and his wife do not seem on the same page, he gets attracted to Sonia.
Author Smita Das Jain has thrown light on the emotional issues that most corporate women face due to stress and long working hours. This is an interesting story of Sonia who cares for everyone around her but sometimes fails to make everyone happy at the same time.

Sonia Ajmera was a chief manager for the digital division at one of the country’s largest media conglomerates in Delhi. She has cracked the job through a campus interview. And was happy with her choice.
She is an IIM pass-out and married to her batch mate, Sameep Agarwal. Rannvijay was Sonia’s ex-boyfriend. She broke up with him after she met Sameep on the IIM campus.
Mehul is her junior at work. Her marriage is going through a rough patch.
When she received little attention and care from Mehul, she got attracted to him. Her short affair lasted till the relaunch of a ‘geet app’, a project on which they were working together.
