Book Review: Shiv Aruna by Laxman Rao
While hunting for my next read on my Amazon Kindle device, I came across a Shiv Aruna book written by Laxman Rao. While doing more research on the author I came to know that the author of the book Laxman Rao was a tea seller who turned into a writer. My heart and research on the internet motivated me to pick and read this amazing book.
The story of the Shiv Aruna by Laxman Rao is an innocent love story of 25 years old watchman Shiv and a daughter of a brigadier named Aruna. Shiv is the main protagonist of the story. The story revolves around the life of Shiv who is a final year English literature master’s student and is working hard day and night to change his circumstances.
Shiv belongs to a poor Brahmin family; he is working hard to finance his studies and the cost of living in Delhi. Through the story of Shiv in the book Shiv Aruna by Laxman Rao, the author has tried to explain the situation of children who come from poor backgrounds. Sometimes they don’t get everything and have to try hard to change their circumstances.
He tries hard to stop his attraction towards Aruna because somewhere he knew the consequences of it. But, he fails to control his emotions and falls deeply in love with Aruna.
Aruna, who is a school-going girl, gets attracted to Shiv because of his simple life and hard-working nature. I found the love of Aruna pure and innocent.
At times Shiv fails to trust their love but it is Aruna who fights hard to get back the trust. Initially, I felt that Aruna is the silent character who fails to express her emotions but, in the end, she is the one who is crisp and clear about her emotions and fights strongly for herself.
The writer has wonderfully sketched all the characters, especially of Shiv and Aruna. I get blown away by the story. I never felt to keep the book down as the story is written wonderfully.
Everything in the book represents real life and nothing is exaggerated much to push the story. I love everything about the book from the cover, storyline, plot, and narration. I would like to explore more books written by author Laxman Rao. If you enjoy exploring Hindi fictional books then Shiv Aruna by Laxman Rao is the one I highly recommend to you.

शिव अरुणा उपन्यास शिव और अरुणा के मासूम प्यार पर आधारित हैं. इस पुस्तक के लेखक का नाम लक्ष्मण राव हैं. शिव एक सीधा साधा २५ वर्ष का युवान हैं. वह चौकीदार की नौकरी के साथ-साथ एम.ए की फाइनल ईयर की परीक्षा की तैयारी भी कर रहा हैं. उसे देख कोई कह नहीं सकता के वो चौकीदार हैं. वह देखने में बिलकुल एक पढ़ा लिखा नौजवान दिखता हैं. वह सुनहरे भविष्य की रचना करने में दिन- मेहनत करता हैं.
लेकिन इसी बीच उसकी आखें ब्रिगेडियर की बेटी अरुणा से मिल जाती हैं. अरुणा एक बारवी कक्षा में पड़ती छात्रा हैं. दोनों के प्रेम के चर्चे पूरी कॉलोनी में फैल जाते हैं.अपनी इस गलती की कीमत शिव को अपनी नौकरी खो कर चुकानी पड़ती हैं.
शिव और अरुणा का एक दुसरे से मिलने का हर रास्ता बंद कर दिया जाता हैं. कुछ महीनो बाद ब्रिगेडियर का पूरा परिवार दिल्ली छोड़कर चला जाता हैं.
शिव भी अपनी पढाई पूरी कर अपने गॉव लौट आता हैं. यहाँ वह कुसुम नाम की लड़की से शादी कर अपने जीवन में आगे बढ़ाने की कोशिश करता हैं.
आज दस साल बाद शिव एक प्रसिद्ध शिक्षक और मोटीवेशनल स्पीकर हैं और अरुणा एक स्कूल की वाईस प्रिंसिपल हैं. शिव के पास सब कुछ हैं, लेकिन अरुणा उसे अब भी याद आती हैं. लेकिन वह जानता हैं के वह अरुणा से कभी नहीं मिल पायेगा. लेकिन एक दिन अचानक उसका पहला प्यार उसके सामने आकर फिर खड़ा हो जाता हैं. आगे जाने के लिए पढ़िये.
