Book Review: Her Last Wish by Ajay K Pandey
Her Last Wish by Ajay K Pandey is a story of a common man who fights hard to save the life of her wife. This is an inspirational love story of two opposite people who fight hard to bring comfort and happiness to each other’s lives.
Ajay K Pandey’s books are always very emotional and this is my second one from the author. The first one was Everything I Never Told You. When I came across this book on my Kindle device, I immediately downloaded it and started reading.
The story wonderfully describes the husband-wife and father-son relationship.
The story was told by Vijay Sharma, one of the main protagonists of the story. He is not earning well, introverted by nature, and an average-looking thirty-two-year-old man. When he came to know that his wife Aastha with whom he has been married for only six months is infected with HIV, he left no stone unturned to convert her last few days into happiness and fulfil all her wishes.
Aastha is a female protagonist whose childhood was full of pain. Unlike her better half, she believes in enjoying her life and always loves to indulge herself in drinking alcoholic beverages and eating non-vegetarian food.
Vijay and Aastha are not good at everything but I believe they complete each other. The character of Vijay motivates the common man who is struggling to fulfil the wishes of her family. If a simple man like him can do it then anybody can do it.
Vijay trying to fulfil her wife’s seven impossible wishes filled my eyes with tears. Helping and motivating father in the story seems like a heart-touching father-son relationship which is something very rare to find in a fast-moving world.
The author has done a great job of bringing awareness about HIV and AIDS. The author has used very simple language to explain this disease. The story flows nicely keeping a reader fully engrossed in the emotional tale of Vijay and Aastha. The author has wonderfully described the two most important relationships of man’s life through this story.
This book reveals the problems and emotional turmoils of the common man when their loved ones suffer from a deadly disease like HIV. If you love reading emotional tales then I will highly recommend you to read Her Last Wish by Ajay K Pandey.
