Book Review: Layla Book by Colleen Hoover
Layla book written by #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover has an element of love, romance, tragedy, and paranormal. I pick up this book unknowingly without knowing about its paranormal storyline. Otherwise, I would have avoided reading it. But, trust me I am happy that I have read this book as it is very interesting, crazy, and unputdownable.
The author has very nicely blended the pure paranormal romance that didn’t seem natural. This is my third Colleen Hoover book. You can read reviews of Regretting You and Reminders of him. I am looking forward to exploring more books written by her.
The main protagonist Leeds instantly develops a connection with Layla. I love the instant love that develops between Leeds and Layla. He adored and loved Layla wholeheartedly. Even after the tragic accident he constantly stuck with her and tried hard to help her in recovering from the accident and saving their relationship.
Layla is a very strong character and my favorite in the book. She goes out of the way to be with Leeds which is something that filled my heart with lots of emotions for the couple in the book.
Willow is a strange character. Initially, I found her unacceptable and selfish but later I realized that she was also confused about her existence.
Initially, I did not agree with the paranormal romance concept. I started hating all the characters. Leeds getting involved with Spirit and going out of his way to help her feels weird. But as the story progresses and reaches the end, I find the story interesting and different. I must say that Colleen Hoover served the paranormal element with a grace that the story seems acceptable to me.
The author has also thrown light on the side effects of social media sites. Sometimes, feeding the world with information about personal life can invite a few enemies back into our lives.
The story flows smoothly and I find the plot crisp and clear. The story continuously jumps between past and present but I never felt confused while reading it. The unexpected twist at the end makes the story digestible. The story has few but well-developed characters. The language used by the author is simple and easy to read. Overall it is a great read and I never felt bored for a minute while reading this book.
Colleen Hoover has offered paranormal romance, tragedy, love, and emotions everything in one book. If you like reading love stories with a paranormal storyline then I would highly recommend Layla Book by Colleen Hoover.

In the Layla book by Colleen Hoover, Leeds Gabriel meets Layla for the first time at Bed and Breakfast. Layla was there for her sister’s wedding and he was a band member from Tennessee. Leeds and Layla immediately fell in love with each other. Layla moved to Leeds and never went back to her place. When Leeds posted their relationship status on social media, Sable his ex-girlfriend attacked both of them. This incident leaves Layla fighting for her life. After spending many days in the hospital, she recovered physically but mentally she has developed many psychological disorders.
Initially, Leeds tried hard to help Layla but with time he started feeling she is not the same girl he fell in love with. So, to save their relationship Leeds took her back to bed and breakfast where they met for the first time.
Here, he meets a spirit named Willow. He instantly forms a connection with her. She started using Layla’s body to spend time with Leeds. As his curiosity about Willow grows, helping her find the answers puts him in direct conflict with Layla’s health and well-being.
