Our Secret Romance by Payal Dedhia is a short romance ebook. This is an office romance story between the boss and the employee. The story is clean, simple, short, and predictable. The cover and title of the story are interesting and go with the flow and plot of the story. The story is devoid of villains with a romantic plot.
The author had wonderfully crafted the characters of the book and their personality matches with the real humans of modern times.
Nandini Shrivastava is an interesting character who always looks for positivity in life. She believes in enjoying every moment of life without any hesitation. Sometimes she behaves very maturely like taking baby steps while dating the CEO of the company. Other times she behaves like an immature twenty-three-year-old girl who is fighting with the CEO of the company for her best friend and creating a scene in front of the HR head.
Rajat is a hardworking CEO of the company. He is a moody, grumpy, and handsome boss who wants people to follow his orders. He changes his mood and personality very often. He made one mistake after coming back to India. This one mistake kept him away from his obsession for a long time. The character of Rajat evolves in the story and he changes himself for Nandini and that is the best part of the story.
I love the bonding between Armaan and Nandini. The way he protects her like a big brother is heart-warming. This type of bonding is difficult to find nowadays. The friendship between Nandini and Meghana is pleasing and something very difficult to find in a competitive environment.
Both Nandini and Rajat are obsessed with each other. When they share their feelings and claim each other is something that makes it a must-read for contemporary age-gap romance lovers.
The author has wonderfully explained the emotions of the girl whose dreams come true when the most handsome CEO proposes to her.
The author used simple vocabulary and I didn’t find any flaws when it came to the editing part. The story flows smoothly with few twists and turns. The story is predictable for pro-readers. It’s the narration part that makes this book a must-read for romance lovers.
