Book Review: The Maze by Madhuri Tamse

The Maze by Madhuri Tamse is the political romance trilogy book number two. The story of this book picks up from where the first one ends. If you want to enjoy this trilogy then I would highly recommend you to read the first one The Gamble before you start reading the second one.

The attractive cover and title give full justice to the flow of the story. Most of the characters remain the same and as the situation changes their personality and attitude changes in the game of love and politics.

Meher now starts thinking with her head instead of her heart. She is seen supporting her father. She too had turned against Ayaan by suppressing her feelings and love for him.

Ayaan was a lover boy in the first one but here in this book, his love for Meher is also shaken as the situation and proofs point an arrow toward Meher. In the middle of all this, his heart craves Meher and considers her innocent but his brain tells him a different story. In this book, his character is more dominating and controlling.

Krish, whose role was limited, comes out as a brother and best friend who is seen supporting the hero in tackling emotional and outer messes together.

In the first book, Devika’s character was more active but in the second book, her husband’s Aksh character is more active. His caring and wicked side both come out clearly.

The king and queen scoreboard is taken more seriously by the two main protagonists. This time they are hitting each other with more passion and trying hard to hold their side by betraying and breaking each other.

Between their fights, only one thing remains unchanged and that is their emotional and physical attraction towards each other. Both of them are trying hard to control their deadly attraction towards each other so that they can focus on their goal and support their families.

This time Vishnu’s character is more active unlike the first one. I am happy to explore the emotional and caring nature of this tough man in the second one.

The story flows nicely with amazing dialogue to keep the reader entertained. I love the way Ayaan and Meher keep comparing themselves with the king and queen pieces of chess. Their bitter-sweet talk too revolves around the king and queen. The way Madhuri Tamse created and revealed the suspense in the story forced me to finish this book as fast as possible. Now I am eagerly awaiting for the third part to come out.

I never got bored while exploring this political romance novel. The author uses simple vocabulary and her mind-blowing comparison of each character with chess pieces has made my reading experience butter smooth and amazing both at a time.

This book has love, emotion, dirty politics, and betrayal. If you love reading romance novels set up in the backdrop of politics. then I will highly recommend you to read The Maze by Madhuri Tamse.
