Book Review: Wild Card 3 by Asfiya Rahman
Wild Card 3 by Asfiya Rahman is the third book in the series. This book sheds light on the life of Paralympic sport player Roshini Mehrotra and her struggles as a wheelchair-bound girl from the day she was born.
A beautiful green cover with a picture of a wheelchair, tennis racket, and books matches the storyline. This book can be read as a standalone, as the author, Asfiya Rahman, gave a very short summary of the first two at the beginning of the book.
The story revolves around Roshini, Karan, Tahira, Vikram, and little Aman. The story is about Roshini Mehrotra. She is independent and wants to live life on her terms. Roshini never felt she was differently abled until she joined college. People always judge her for being the daughter of a Wimbledon winner, a successful entrepreneur, and a single father, Karen Mehrotra. She hates that and wants to grow independently without anyone’s help.
Karan is a single father who leaves everything to be with his wheelchair-bound daughter after he loses his wife in an accident. But when Roshini entered college, she hardly had time for him, and sometimes she didn’t share her problems with him.
Tahira and Vikram are family friends of Karan who always stood with Roshini and him in their good and bad times. The character of little Aman is adorable.
Tennis connects all the characters. The author had maturely explained the relationship between Roshini and Karan. Just like Karan, every parent is avoided by their children when they enter into the teenage years.
The way Karan patiently guides Roshini and sometimes makes peace with her choices is something that every parent needs to learn from his character.
The tennis sequence was well-described and felt like watching a real tennis match.
The book is written in simple English and will be a very good option for any teenager who wants to begin their reading journey.
The story is short, simple, and flows smoothly with very few ups and downs and is almost predictable. The only thing I miss in the story is that the character of Lena was the least explored. It remains more like a hidden secret of Karan.
Overall, a good book for readers who love reading clean, short, and motivational fictional stories. If you love reading sports fiction, I recommend Wild Card 3 by Asfiya Rahman.

Book Summary: Wild Card 3 by Asfiya Rahman
Roshni Mehrotra was a paraplegic daughter of Wimbledon-winning single father Karan Mehrotra. She was living a happy life with many friends in school who did not judge her because of her wheelchair and an overprotective father.
Suddenly, her life turned upside down when she joined one of the best colleges based on her merit. Although she was good at studies and a good conversationalist, she failed to make friends in college.
On top of all, her college premises were not wheelchair-friendly. She had to choose a subject with classes on the ground floor, not based on her interest.
With each passing day, she is losing patience and feeling lost. Her father is always ready to help her, but she refuses, saying she will solve them.
Why is Roshini very reluctant?
Will Roshini find her real calling?
Why is she not taking help from her father?
