Your Place or Mine by Portia MacIntosh is a funny story with lots of pranks, love, emotions, and friendship. It is a cute love story of Serena and Ziggy who were totally opposite each other.
In the book, Your Place or Mine by Portia MacIntosh, the author has wonderfully sketched all the characters and especially the main protagonist of the book.
I love the character of Serena, who is the main protagonist in the story. She is surrounded by so many problems all at a time. She lost her job, home, and Diana, and on top of all this her boyfriend Dean was cheating on her behind her back. She is grieving the death of Diana since she is more like a mother to her. So, while reading the story my all sympathy was towards Serena’s character.
I wish I had more time with Diana’s character in the story. Diana is more like a mother to Serena than her employer. I would like to know more details about her that I find missing in the book. I wish the author would have revealed more about Diana, her husband, and their children.
I like Ziggy’s character but I don’t say I love him. He is a good-hearted person who helps people he loves but he is a bit messy. One thing that is best about him is that he has many good friends. I will call him a messy, handsome, and talented hero of the book.
I love the way Serena and Ziggy keep throwing tantrums at each other. She wants some peace at night while he loves throwing loud parties. They try hard to throw one another out of the house by making each other’s life difficult.
There are also other good character’s in the book like A1, Kira, Tim, Taylor, and Dean’s girlfriend Lacey. Although they play very short because the story mostly revolves around Serena and Ziggy.
In the book Your Place or Mine by Portia MacIntosh, the author also throws light on some sensitive issues like grief, loss of home and job, and cheating. I think when survival becomes the issue, even good people also start playing wicked games. This is what happens with the characters of Serena and Ziggy in the book Your Place or Mine by Portia MacIntosh.
Overall, the story flows smoothly, with easy vocabulary, to keep me engaged in the book. I like the story, plot, and characters, and recommend you to read it on a dull lazy afternoon. It will surely bring a smile to your face. Looking forward to reading more books from the author Portia MacIntosh.

Serena was thrown out of her flat and job after the sudden death of her employer Diana. She was living in a flat above the tea room. She had no money and no place to go. She received a call from her childhood friend Taylor offering her house to live in for a few months. When she reached there with excitement only to find she was not the only person who received the same offer.
There was another guy Ziggy who was going to be her housemate for the next few months. When she was trying to adjust with Ziggy’s presence, he took the best bedroom in the house, leaving the guest room for her.
They started throwing tantrums at each other to survive in the house and to prove their points. On one side Serena was grieving the death of her employer Diana who always treated her like her daughter, tackling Ziggy’s pranks, and with the loss of the job she had no money in hand. As if all this was not enough she found out that her boyfriend Dean was cheating on her and that Diana had left an adult store name ‘Dirty Di’ to her.
