Book Review: Mauli Ghar Chali by Shilpa Sharma
Mauli Ghar Chali by Shilpa Sharma is a story of Mauli who gets married at sixteen but has come to live with his husband for the last four months.
I love the cover page of the book. It is very interesting and designed very nicely.
Mauli is the main protagonist in the book Mauli Ghar Chali by Shilpa Sharma. She is an eighteen-year-old girl who studied till 12th class and married her father’s best friend’s son named Sankalp. Mauli is a loving, intelligent, caring, and positive person. She is a family-oriented girl who supports her family and husband in bad times.
Mauli shares a lovely bond with her mother Shanta, brother Vikas, and father Vilas. At her husband’s place, she shares a similar bond with her father-in-law Pandurang, brother-in-law Kalpesh, and husband Sankalp. However, she does not get along with her mother-in-law Bindu, as she doesn’t like Mauli and always finds faults in her. Somehow Mauli learned to tolerate her comments to keep peace in the family.
But when her mother-in-law insulted her with false allegations, she left the house for her self-respect.
There is a lot of understanding between Mauli and her husband Sankalp. He is also one of my favorite characters in the story who found himself stuck between wife and mother. He is also one of the strong characters in the story who gathers a lot of courage to support the truth.
All the characters portrayed by the author seem real and they represent lower working-class people who work hard to live their life. There is a lot of love and emotional connection between all the characters in the story.
The author throws light on the problems faced by the lower working-class people of society during the pandemic.
The story of Mauli Ghar Chali by Shilpa Sharma is short and kept me hooked till the end due to its crisp storyline. I also find Mauli doing a small investigation in the next half of the story. This makes the story interesting and keeps the reader involved in the story.
I finished it in one sitting and never got bored while reading it. The author didn’t stress the plot and kept it simple, realistic, and short. Looking forward to reading more stories from the author.
I love the story and book. I will recommend it to people who love reading simple stories that revolve around the life of common Indian people. To know more read Mauli Ghar Chali by Shilpa Sharma
