Book Review: Back To You by Madhuri Tamse
Back To You by Madhuri Tamse is about two people living in a loveless marriage for the last ten months, finally deciding to address it. The author had covered childhood enmity, love, friendship, and family dynamics while depicting the story.
In this book, the author has shed light on current-day relationships, and at times, they take a back seat due to career goals. The story is told from the point of view of male and female protagonists, Rajveer Chopra and Ananya Mathur.
Ananya Mathur lives in New York and is the face of the top fashion brand Glam Up. She is an independent woman who loves her career and does not want to sacrifice it. However, her father does not want her to work in the fashion industry. Ananya’s brother, Akash, always supported her. To make her family happy, she agreed to marry her childhood enemy, Rajveer Chopra, who happened to be her neighbour.
Rajveer Chopra lives in Australia. He gives space to Ananya. I love his caring nature, and the way he calms Ananya down with his one-liner justification is something that I find very interesting.
The superbly crafted male and female protagonist resonates with Gen Z, who love their family and give equal importance to their career. I love the bickering of Ananya and Rajveer, which made me laugh while reading this book.
I love the character of Ananya’s easy-going mother-in-law, Radha, who gives lots of space to her. I think she is a flawless mother-in-law whom each of us wishes to have. Riddhi is Ranveer’s sister and is married to Ananya’s brother. She is a sweet and caring sister and a wonderful daughter-in-law.
The way Ananya and Rajveer navigate leaving behind their childhood enmity while maintaining balance in their respective career and giving equal importance to their personal life is something modern-day couples need to learn from them.
The Back to You by Madhuri Tamse is written in simple English. The book’s cover is beautiful and completely goes with the plot. The squabbling of Ananya and Rajveer keeps the reader intrigued with the story. I love the sizzling chemistry and attraction concealed behind their fights, which occasionally they find hard to ignore.
The story is fast-paced and flows smoothly, with different twists and turns at the right time, keeping the reader hooked till the end. The climax is unexpected and heart-warming.
Overall, this is a well-written book with a perfectly crafted plot. If you love reading enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance novels, then I highly recommend you to read Back to You by Madhuri Tamse.
