Shattered by Shilpa Suraj is Book 3 of the ‘In Disgrace” series. This book is based on second-chance romance and a fight for depression after facing betrayal by the people you loved the most in your life.
The author has thrown the light on taking a second chance for people who are going through rough times after failing in their previous relationship.
The cover and title of the book completely match the plot of the story. The story takes place in the backdrop of a security firm’s office. The author has wonderfully framed the love story that takes place while managing celebrities’ tantrums and high-profile businessmen.
The author had nicely crafted the two main protagonists of the story who are mature and wounded by their loved ones.
Nisha Gaikwad is struggling to get a divorce from her toxic ex-husband Aman. She is still facing difficulty in standing back on her feats and bursts out occasionally. Although her mother and best friend Aarushi are helping her to deal with it. Paul and Rahul had offered her a job in their new security firm as an executive to reduce their guilt.
Paul Alavars had left her navy job to start a security firm with his best friend Rahul. He is still struggling hard to manage civilian life. He is handsome, helpful, and understanding, and had troubled relationships with his parents.
Nisha and Paul are two beautifully crafted characters and their love and romance have soul in it. The appearance of colorful Vaani from the first book adds colors to the story. Rahul and Aarushi were facing relationship issues. But honestly, I enjoyed reading a little about the characters from the first two books.
The book flows nicely just like the previous two books. The story also moves forward. You can read this book standalone if you want to as the author has mentioned all the information from the previous two books in tits and bits to understand the story and plot. But I will suggest you read Flawed and Lost the first two before starting the third one.
The romance and suspense factor was comparatively less than the first two in the series. The ongoing relationship issues between Rahul and Aarushi were left unexplained by the author. Otherwise, it is a well-written book and there is lots of mature love between the two main characters who are blessed with a golden heart.
This book is full of friendship, mature love, emotions, and the importance of mental health. If you love reading Shilpa Suraj Books then I will highly recommend you to read Shattered by Shilpa Suraj.

Lieutenant Paul Alvares and Lieutenant Rahul Jaishankar after facing betrayal by their close friend Lieutenant Aman Rathore had left their navy job. Both were deeply missing their job and the ocean. They had shifted to Mumbai and started their security firm.
Nisha Gaekwad, the ex-wife of Aman, is the first to join their company. Together they hired three more employees. Nisha is still recovering from her depression and at times she breaks down. Whenever she finds difficulty in managing herself Paul always steps in to help her.
This way they come close to each other and are attracted to each other. Unfortunately, Nisha is officially not yet divorced and Paul considers it to be a sin to have a romance with her friend’s ex-wife.
