The Perfect 10 by Yasmin Karachiwala is a perfect solution if you want to begin your fitness journey without any investment. This book has everything that you need to achieve your fitness goal. This book explains that all you need is 10 minutes to start your everyday fitness routine.
I love the cover of the book. Yasmin wearing a superwoman’s dress makes the cover very attractive and gives promise to the readers that they too can become superwomen or men after reading this very helpful book on fitness.
The author has mentioned that exercise has become a necessity because with time we started moving less and technology has made things simpler in current times.
The author has discussed the hurdles that we all go through while on the fitness journey. She mentioned all the internal and external struggles that most of us face in this journey of being fat to fit both internally and externally.
She had shared exercises with steps written and with pictures and by scanning the barcode given in the book you can play videos of the exercises. I tried scanning a barcode using the Google app camera on my mobile and the videos are working. You can also look for more details on Yasmin Karachiwala’s website.
Most of us think diet and exercise are only two facets of achieving fitness. However, the author mentioned the six players that play a key role in fitness. They are sleep, movement, attitude, strength training, hydration, and nutrition. Everything is explained in more detail about these six players in the book.
She also shared some of her favorite pre and post-workout meals and some of her healthy go-to recipes in detail. She had also busted some of the myths about protein intake and its source. Yasmin has shared what to eat and what not to eat.
One of the biggest hurdles we face while on a fitness journey is when we hit the plateau. During this, we find it difficult to reach our fitness goals. The author has explained this term in detail and how to break it to reach our ultimate goal.
The best part is she shares all her secrets and uses very simple language to write this amazing book. She has shared each point in detail with pictures and in a clear-cut way to avoid any confusion.
This book seems like a blessing for people who love doing exercise and to people who want to start their fitness journey. The few stories of her celebrity clients that she shared are really motivating for common people like me.

My takeaways
- Begin your exercise by visualizing the result of that exercise on your body.
- Fitness is not a destination. Fitness is a long journey with many destinations which changes the fitter you become.
- Sleep deprivation disturbs your ability to focus on your exercise which in turn increases the chances of injury.
- People equate fitness with thinness which is not true.
- Fitness improves stamina, reflexes, mental agility, sleep, performance at work, sex life, and mood. It is prescribed as a supplement therapy for most mental and physical illnesses.
- You can only lose 25-30% of weight through exercise and the remaining 70-75% you have to balance with your diet. Although these are broad numbers, the point is diet plays a key role than exercise to achieve fitness.
- There is only one magic formula to get the body you want and that is consistency and the best thing is to show up for yourself.
This book gives hope and knowledge on fitness to everyone who wants to start their fitness journey and all you need is ten minutes every day. To discover more about health and fitness read The Perfect 10 by Yasmin Karachiwala
