Book Review: The Yogi Witch: Blood Lines and Legacies by Zorian Cross
The Yogi Witch by Zorian Cross takes you inside the world of magic, witchcraft, tarot card reading, spirituality, and black magic. This book describes the amazing love story of two people who are way apart from each other and their families have many hidden secrets.
After reading Layla book by Colleen Hoover I want to explore more books that revolve around the paranormal and magic topics. When I received this book from Blogchatter I felt super excited. This book review is powered by Blogchatter book review program.
The black and golden cover of the book gives justice to the title, theme, and storyline. The author has used simple language making it easier for readers.
The author Zorian Cross in his debut novel has done justice in explaining various art as he is an occultist specializing in astrology, tarot card reading, eastern and Western schools of mythology, and mysticism as described in the Times of India.
The author has wonderfully framed all the characters of the story. Jai is the main protagonist of the story. He is confused about his existence and leads a dull life. Although he received lots of love from his Gran and aunts. But he doesn’t have any friends. He also received a setback when it comes to his love life.
The first time he was betrayed in school by Nikhiil and somehow he survived it. But when Vir, his neighbor broke his heart his life turned upside down and he lost everything including his family and home.
The character of Jai gets evolved as the story progresses. He turned into a man who stands for his loved one’s from a boy who was sexually harassed and bullied into the school by his fellow mates.
Vir is the love of Jai’s life. I find the character of Vir is less explained by the author.
I love the family bonding in the story. Jai, his two aunts, and Gran share an amazing bond. They often make fun of and tease each other which is something I find very cute and emotional.
The Yogi Witch by Zorian Cross has changed my definition of witches. Ever since childhood, I have believed witches to be ugly and full of hatred. In the book, I found Gran, Aunt Meg, and Aunt. Claudine was loving, caring, funny, emotional, helpful, and understanding.
I love the characters of Gran. Aunt Meg, and Aunt Claudine. The best thing about all these characters is that they all love Jai unconditionally and train him in yoga and witchcraft from time to time. I enjoyed reading training sessions of Jai in different witchcraft.
The author has wonderfully explained mythologies and unveiled hidden secrets that lay within them in connection with the story. I have never read any book that explains witchcraft in detail. The author has wonderfully explained about witchcraft and everything seems digestible.
It is the most beautiful love story describing the emotions of the LGBTQ+ community. I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend you to read The Yogi Witch: About Blood Lines and Legacies by Zorian Cross.
