Book Review: This Is It by Andaleeb Wajid

This Is It by Andaleeb Wajid is Book 3 in the Khan Sisters Trilogy. This book throws light on the Bollywood world and the harsh side of social media that turns the lives of male and female protagonists upside down. This is a standalone contemporary romance novel that starts with controversy and ends with happily ever after.

I loved all three books in the Khan Sisters Trilogy series. The sisters are sarcastic and sassy while their male protagonists are calm, gentle, and handsome. You can read this book as a standalone but I will suggest you read all three if you love reading Indian romances.

I love the cover and flow of the story. The story is written in simple English spiked with romance and doubts. The story flows nicely at a good pace with few twists and turns to keep the reader invested in the life of a Bollywood hero and working independent middle-class girl.

The author has nicely crafted the characters of this book, especially the male and female protagonists.

Amna Khan is the youngest one of the three sisters and a biotechnologist by profession. She is beautiful, brave, and independent. She craves a life partner but does not want to leave her widowed mother alone. She is happy in her personal and professional life and has no plans for marriage.

Adnan Sheikh is a handsome Bollywood hero who has managed to grab a few hit films even being an outsider. He lives in Mumbai for work purposes and comes to stay with his family in Bangalore whenever he gets free time from work. He shared a bitter-sweet relationship with his family. He also had a stalker named Riffat.

I love the bonding between Alina, Aliya, and Amna. Rohaan and Jamal from the first two books This Changes Everything and This Means Love also become a part of the family and support Amna like their own sister.

Rohaan’s bond with Uzma Aunty has grown many folds. The way he calms trios’ mother is heart-warming. Samira phuphu is now behind Amna and suggesting unworthy marriage proposals to her mother.

Generally, women are judged by their profession but in this book male protagonist is judged by his profession. The role of a stalker adds thrills and suspense which keeps the reader hooked with the story.

Overall, it’s a great read for slow-burning romance lovers. I must say when it comes to Andaleeb Wajid’s books it is difficult to see any flaws in the book.

This book is full of romance, family bonding, and sisterhood. If you love reading contemporary romances then I will highly recommend you to read This Is It by Andaleeb Wajid.
